The Rondout Valley Federation of Teachers and School-Related Professionals (RVF) is an umbrella labor union (3 separate contracts) of nearly 350 teachers, guidance counselors, school psychologists, service-related professionals, paraprofessionals, secretaries, nurses, sr. crisis intervention counselors, social workers, and school-to-work transition specialists.
The Officers of the RVF include six positions: the President, three Vice-Presidents, a Treasurer, and Secretary.
The Executive Committee is the governing body of the RVF and is comprised of the Officers, Building Reps, Unit Reps, and all other committee members. Only the elected officials can vote, with the President voting only in the case of a tie.
The RVF is located in Rondout Valley Central School District in Accord, NY. (PO Box 678) 4303 US-209, Stone Ridge, NY 12484.
MISSION
The Mission of the RVF states that the purpose of this organization is to:
A. Provide employment security for the membership of the RVF.
B. Negotiate bilateral working agreements with the Board of Education.
C. Promote the interest of public education.
D. Advance the standards of the Teaching Profession.
E. Advance the standards of School-Related Personnel.
F. Encourage a better understanding and closer relationship among RVF members, community, Board of Education and administration.
